The following materials are relevant to some points of our discussion:
-
The systemwide "BOARS" report on principles governing non-resident enrollment, and the interim report of the Berkeley joint administration-Senate Task Force on Enrollment, which recommended reducing enrollment of California residents to the level funded by the state, and a corresponding increase (to roughly 20%) of out-of-state enrollments.
-
A talk given by Vice Chancellor for Research Graham Fleming, explaining the plan (and its justification) for restructuring ORU operations on campus.
-
The report by the Bain consulting firm for the University of North Carolina, which gives a picture of what a similar effort at an overall efficiency review of our operations at Berkeley will look like.
