The call to meetings will be distributed to Senate members at least 10 calendar days prior to the meeting, per Senate Bylaw 120.B, and will be available on the systemwide Assembly web page http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/senate/assembly/. Berkeley Senate members may comment on agenda items through their Assembly representatives. If you would like to participate in an Assembly teleconference from a central campus location, please contact us for coordination purposes at acad_sen@berkeley.edu.

Graduate Degree Proposal Review

Below are links to information about the review process for graduate degree proposals at the campus and the systemwide level.

The table below summarizes the status of graduate degree proposals submitted to the Berkeley Division of the Academic Senate during the current academic year.

It generally takes Academic Senate committees about three months to complete review of a new graduate degree proposal. If there are questions about a proposal, then it might take longer.

Advises the Chancellor and consults with the Dean of International and Area Studies on relevant academic matters, including the Education Abroad Program, and initiates policy recommendations regarding study abroad.

Per the Final Report of the Task Force on Senate Organization and Effectiveness and the Divisional Council, the Berkeley Division will appoint a task force in fall 2010 to recommend options for continuing the work of the Committee on International Education.
