COR Grant Programs
COR fosters faculty research through the following programs
 
  Travel Grants
 
  • Supports faculty travel to conferences to present research findings
  • Provides travel funds for intercampus research activities
   
  Research Enabling Grants
 
  • Supports basic research expenses (field travel; research assistance; etc.)
  • Maximum $l,000
  • Generally routinely granted to all requests provided funding remains available, and the proposal meets the criteria
   
  Faculty Research Grants
 
  • Competitive awards over $1,000
  • Geared toward tenured faculty
   
  Junior Faculty Research Grants
 
  • Offered to assistant professors who have not exceeded three academic years in their tenure-track appointment
  • Intended to assist new faculty in establishing their research program at Berkeley by providing the initial “seed” money associated with launching a major research project
   
  Research Assistantship in the Humanities Grants
 
  • Intended to provide academic and professional development of Humanities and Social Science graduate students under the mentorship of faculty
  • Offered to meet the special needs of the humanities and social science disciplines where external research funding typically is scarce
   
 

A supplemental grant cycle is held each fall for faculty appointed effective July 1, or faculty who were away from campus the previous spring semester.

   
  Bridge Grants
 
  • Intended to provide tenured faculty a “bridge” to explore new professional opportunities, research or creative endeavors representing a significant departure from their career fields of interest
  • Up to $20,000 for a two year period
   
  Mary Elisabeth Rennie Endowment for Epilepsy Research
 

The Rennie Grant program supports epilepsy and epilepsy-related research. The Committee awards, on a competitive basis, a limited number of two-year grants. Applicants may be awarded up to $25,000
