The UC Commission on the Future was created in summer 2009 by President Mark Yudof and Regents Chair Russell Gould as a body tasked with defining a future for the University of California, consistent with its resources and its historic mission. The Commission initially consisted mainly of Regents and high-level administrators, many drawn from professional schools. After an outcry from the Senate, the Commission was expanded to include more faculty voices, and five large, faculty-dominated Working Groups were also created, as the springboard for proposals for the Commission’s consideration.

More information on the Commission, including its Final Report, can be found here.
