- Degree (M. Eng.)
The candidate must:
- Have completed requirements for the Bachelor's degree in one of the Colleges or Schools of the University of California or at another college or university of approved standing;
- Have completed at least two semesters of graduate study in residence at the University of California;
- a program of at least 24 units of approved upper division and graduate courses pertinent to the field of specialization;
- at least 5 units of the 24 must be in courses oriented toward design and analysis;
- at least 12 units of the 24 must be strictly graduate courses in the major subject;
- and an additional 7 units of the 24 must be breadth courses properly supportive of the program of study; and
- Maintain an average grade of at least B in all course work undertaken as a graduate student at the University of California.
- Program
- The program of work of each candidate is to be under the supervision of a faculty committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Engineering.
- The program must include at least 4 units at the graduate level of professionally-oriented individual or group study or research, culminating in a written report. No more than 5 of the 24 specified units, and none of the 12 required units of graduate courses in the major subject, can be individual or group study or research.
- Subject to approval of the Graduate Council, the program of study is determined and administered by the Faculty of the College of Engineering.
