A major part of the Senate's work is reviewing and advising senior administration at Berkeley and the Office of President on issues of interest to the campus. This section highlights issues of current interest and those of interest in previous years.
Archived Issues contain previous issues of importance to Senate faculty for which there are multiple documents. Each issue is a link to a page that contains reference materials and other information related to that issue.
The Reports and Recommendations page compiles individual Senate reports and comments on recent and past topics, including topics on the Issues pages.
In March 2020, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shut down the campus and much of the world. UC Berkeley developed new policies and practices to help students, faculty, and staff cope with the disruption, and the Senate's contribution to that effort appear on the Coronavirus Resources page.
Divisional Council (DIVCO), Senate committees, and task forces and subcommittees provide recommendations and consultation on a range of campus and systemwide issues. Selected reports and recommendations are compiled here. The DIVCO and committee annual reports provide comprehensive annual lists of recommendations and actions.
